TOP-20 Best Bitcoin Earning Games 2020 (Free & Paid

How did people figure out what Bitcoin was in 2009.

I understand that only a few people were interested in Bitcoin in 2009. I am curious on how people even looked up things on the internet, and found out about Bitcoin?
What did people in 2009 search on the internet, to get in contact with Satoshi Nakamoto. What were the initial people that invested in Bitcoin interested in.
How do you think people discovered Bitcoin in 2009, 2010, and 2011. This is a mystery to me, and I would like to know.
Thank you,

Are Pricey Crypto Publications like Palm Beach a substitution for a Crypto Mentor?

Why Having a MENTOR in Crypto is Very Important
For the past couple of years I have been sharing the exorbitant costs of the Palm Beach newsletter services with a few other people. But what started off as a simple share of the costs of these publications has actually turned into me being a teacher or counselor in the space to many who are completely new to the world of cryptocurrency.
A bit about me:
As someone who has been buying bitcoin since early 2014 I became the ipso facto ‘crypto expert’ among my friends and new newsletter shares. People came to me with all types of questions which I had taken for granted since I had long ago been through the learning curve required to make me highly proficient at navigating the complex waters of cryptocurrency.
It was at this time that I realized just how difficult crypto currency can be for most people. Many things I took for granted are not actually that simple. I’ve gotten questions all over the board over the years: “how do I buy bitcoin?” - or “How do I send it now that I have it”. “What’s a crypto wallet?” “what are the best exchanges to use?”, “what does ERC-20 mean?” …and on and on and on. I realized that things that I took for granted were actually very real concerns and struggles for people. So I became a teacher of sorts to those who needed help getting their footing established in the wild west of crypto, and instead of being someone who simply shared the costs of pricey publications I ended up being a mentor, an ally, and a friend to many of these people.
Here are a few things I’ve noticed over the years:
Most of the mistakes people make are done early on as they are trying to get set up. There are many traps out there to part you with your money. Fly by night exchanges…or even bogus exchanges, people promising you educational courses that turn out to be worthless drivel and many people online telling you which coins to buy hyping things so much because they want YOU to buy their bags - not to make you rich. I once had a friend google a crypto exchange customer service number. The number wasn’t real but a spoof website in a paid search result which connected her to a scammer who proceeded to steal her $8,000 worth of bitcoin in about 30 seconds. Poof! Gone!
What’s important when you are first new to crypto is to realize that everyone has an agenda and most of the time it’s not a mutually beneficial one. This is the wild wild west! You better have your wits about you, and be quick on the draw - otherwise you’ll blink and suddenly find yourself penniless.
But even good guys have an agenda. I know I do! But mine is more altruistic and designed to be “mutually beneficial”. See, I’m hoping to gain some of your trust to have a conversation so that you’ll allow me to be your ally and mentor in the space - giving me the chance to share both my knowledge and the Palm Beach publications (quarterly or confidential - or others) that you want. Like most value adding things in life it starts with a profit motive; capitalism at its purest. But the best business is also the business which helps solve problems. And that is what I am attempting to do here - to connect with a few people that I can add value and insights to.
Swimming with Sharks or the Land of Milk and Honey?:
With that said cypto is full of some of the slimiest people on earth. Scammers and frauds in boiler rooms in India or Pakistan or China trying to take advantage of your naiveté. It is what it is. Welcome to crypto. But crypto is also the new land of opportunity- a land where you can stake a claim and strike gold, or watch oil just gushing out of the ground. So, yes it can be a wonderful place too! Some of the best people I know I’ve met through my cryptocurrency connections and projects I have become passionate about. Many of these are freedom loving people acutely aware that many things aren’t right in the world and many things need to be changed. We love profit combined with the ideological purity of what crypto is at its core, and usually find agreement in the fact that crypto offers many solutions to a world begging for a paradigm shift towards more honesty and integrity in a broken world full of corrupt systems and cronyism.
But where do you turn for the advice if you are an outsider looking into this fascinating new world and the possibilities that it presents? Do you go to youtube? Do you run to a computer and start googling bitcoin? Will your smart Uncle Joe be able to help you? Certainly, there is a lot of information you can glean our there on your own if you are industrious and persistent. But these are also shark infested waters, and as I said earlier - nearly everyone has an agenda. Usually, as a newbie in crypto you are the “mark” - or as poker players would say; “the fish” at the table. Everyone will welcome you to grab a seat and offer you a smoke… getting you extremely comfortable, before taking your money leaving you wondering what the hell just happened?!
Are you the Customer or “the mark”?
Sadly, many of the latest and greatest crypto publications have also gone the route of the hustler at the poker table. They get you to empty your pockets to enter into the game - and then later they hold you by your ankles and shake you until anything left comes spilling out onto the ground. It’s a brutal world for sure. How many of you are aware that the moment you sign up for Palm Beach (for one example) the next week or even day they will be hitting you up to sign up for yet another multi-thousand dollar subscription service with them or one of their partners like Bonner and Associates or Legacy Research Group? Don’t believe me? Sign up and find out!
To me this is greed at its highest and most perverse level. They claim to want to “help” you become one of the nouveau rich - and they charge a literally boat load of money for the information to do so. The information is very good even! But then just days later you will find out that your information is “incomplete” - and that what you really need to do is to buy this “other” publication which shows you a more nuanced (and shhhh, also secret formula ) to really getting those profits you crave sooner - only even much bigger profits this time - in another sector - oh by the way this will only cost you another $2,500 or $1,500. Really? Are they looking out for their customers or more interested in bleeding them out like pigs? I’d say clearly the latter.
Time for a more Holistic Approach:
For the reasons above I have committed myself to being a crypto mentor and friend in the space - but as a business. As a bonus to signing up with me as your friend and mentor in the space I’ll share with you the publications. This way you help me cover the costs and I help you get what you want; the pricey information. Only I do better by you - in offering you my hand in expertise and kinship and getting your cost greatly reduced at the same time. It’s a no brainer for you really.
Keep in mind I have ALL the Palm Beach publications you could want; (Palm Beach Confidential, Crypto Income Quarterly, Palm Beach Trader, Alpha Edge, Palm Beach Quant ) and also the lesser known and unrelated Crypto Vigilante of Dollar Vigilante fame (a very underrated publication imo). And you get someone who understands crypto and the crypto markets at a fairly high level - someone with the 10,000+ hours put into the space since 2014 to make me not only highly proficient - but arguably an “expert” in the field.
If you were going to get the $75 rib-eye - wouldn’t the same steak taste even better at $25 - $50 while also having 3 sides (and fancy drinks) included? Your choice. This is what I’m offering you.
I have a videos showing me in all my splendor (lol) and trying to communicate who I am, and what I can do for you. I am currently offering a few levels of memberships to my mentorship and expertise and the publications and info you want. So why not have a brief talk about it? Drop me a line in direct message here (not in the public thread below) - and I’ll get you over the full monty of details regarding signing up with me and getting immediate access to the publications and my brain. ; )
I’ll even send you that private video of me first so you can decide if I’m the type of person you might want to do business with. I look forward to hearing from you! Drop me that message and please leave a brief note of what exactly you might be interested in. Thanks!

When was the firs time you heard about Bitcoin ...

and how did you react to it?

I need help figuring out how to buy with Bitcoin.

I keep asking a similar question but I don't think I've been phrasing it correctly. Now that I understand a bit better I'm going to try again.
I'm attempting to use an online gambling service to play poker. It's called ignition. Since I'm from the states, I have to use Bitcoin to deposit funds, and withdrawal winnings. A friend of mine told me he uses coinbase to make his deposits to his account. I got a coinbase account, and when I deposited money into coinbase from my debit card, it took 6 days for the Bitcoin I bought to be able to be sent off of coinbase. When I needed to make another deposit, I was told to try it again, and since my info has been verified from coinbase it should be faster, but unfortunately it's not. Another 6 day hold period before I can send my Bitcoin I bought with cash, to my ignition account.
Maybe I'm not understanding how Bitcoin wallets work, but it's my understanding that I'm using coinbase as a market to buy my Bitcoin, as well as a wallet to send Bitcoin to a business (ignition).
What I would like to find is a place where I can buy small amounts of Bitcoin ($10-$50) frequently, and instantly be able to send it to my ignition account.
If I don't have this correct, could someone please explain how this works to me? I keep getting the answer "wallets don't sell Bitcoin" which I get, but I'm not understanding why my money is being held for close to a week.

feelings of being stuck

hey. im posting this here because idk what else to do, and thought that someone out there could possibly help, or that my story could help someone avoid mistakes i've made
i started playing poker professionally in mid 2017, and for a while it was pretty great. i started out grinding live 1-2 at a local casino while living at home, quickly spun up a roll, and eventually moved to one of the bigger 2-5 NL hubs in the u.s.
my first month there was arguably the worst month of my life. my girlfriend of 4 years had just broken up with me, and that coincided with my biggest career downswing (almost 10k, probably had 55k at start of downswing). dealing with all of these external stressors was not easy for me. I have a history of depression, and all of these things lining up together threw me into one of the deepest holes i've been. there were days (prob less than 5) i spent 20+ hours in bed; only getting up to smoke some weed or find some shit food to eat.
i took some steps to pull myself out of this zone. hired a therapist, regular exercise, attempting to eat healthier, self-help books, etc. all of this, and some run-good on the poker tables, had me back to a fully-functional (and arguably stronger) 2-5 grinder.
i basically god-moded for the next 6 months or so. I prob made 45k with one or two 5-8k downswings thrown in along the way. I'd begun playing 1-2 on ignition (initially for practice/ studying, but then continued bc games were good my hourly there was comparable to my hourly grinding live 2-5) and consequently got my hands on some bitcoin. i was already somewhat familiar with what it was and was generally bullish (still am) so figured i'd hold on to a couple of the fuckers since the roll was so healthy and it seemed like a decent mid-long term investment. well, what fucking timing this turned out to be, as price soared from 4k to rougly 8k by end of may. it was around this time that i think my success began to go to my head a bit. i mean, not that i had done anything particularly grand, but i def had a somewhat constant euphoric buzz going on basically around the clock. I was 25, had over 100k nw, had investments that seemingly were going to be worth millions in the not-so distant future (/s), and worked my dream job in which i was able to get away with whatever the fuck i wanted. "Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta," was like my life theme song, playing wherever i went. is this kind of phenomenon experienced by other pros when upswinging?
it's summer now, and the dreams of shipping a tournament are abundant. i create a ~15k package, and sell about a 1/3 of myself to maintain sanity in case things go poorly (net worth >100k at this point, abi mtt is probably 1100). my lease expires at my current spot, so i'm off to vegas to bluff johnny chan or something.
...or something indeed! i cashed just 1 out of probably 12 tournaments and broke even in cash. it felt not good, but I think i had/have a better understanding as to how big variance is (especially in mtts) relative to most, so I was pretty ok with this. not to mention, btc had topped at 14k, which def made dealing with the negative mtt variance a bit easier.
the highlight of my wsop was day 1 of the main event (didnt initially plan on playing, but I was able to sell 75% and it'd been a dream of mine to play since i was a kid, so fuck it, ill take a shot). my table is a joke. it is unfathomable to me that these types of players both exist AND somehow have $10k to light on fire in a poker tournament. one of my table mates felt the need to heavily exemplify the lack of fucks he gave about this $10k. the dude showed up for the tournament pretty drunk (started at 10am, LOL). first, he has this weird interaction with the dealer where he sits down in seat 5 and dealer tells him he's in the wrong seat, and to move to 6. it takes the guy an abnormal amount of time to understand, but eventually he figures it out and moves over. ok, let's run it. few hands go by and the drunk guy scoops a small pot (probably less than 1k chips and we started with 50k). the seat next to him is unoccupied but there is a stack in front of the seat that is blinding out. as drunk guy scoops his pot, he "accidentally" scoops the chips next to him, in what appeared to either be an extremely slick (/s) attempt to find an early double, or an attempt at a bad joke. imo, it was most likely either a poorly timed joke or the dude was just so fucked up that he just didn't realize what he was doing, but we will never know for sure. either way, jack effel promptly dq'd the guy, which i think was absolutely too harsh. i still regret not jumping to this guy's defense, as i really doubt there were any truly ill intentions behind his actions.
one more quick highlight from my day 1 : i mentioned my table being a dream, and it was, with the exception of one player. a former main event champ, joe mckeehen. i didn't know much about him prior to this except that he was a part of chance's Chip Leader Coaching team, which made me think he was prob a beast. and i was right... the guy undoubtedly had an edge on me (and ofc rest of table) and both played and carried himself extremely well. i played one hand vs him that was noteworthy, particularly because of what he said to me afterwords.
cant remember exact sizing's so bear with me: joe opens hj 2.2x, button call, i call bb with td8h. flop: q67r. i check, joe cbet 1/3 pot, button fold, i call. turn: 4x (i think i could do some leading on this card since i improve to straights and 2p at higher frequency than joe, but who tf am i to just lead into the former champ??) i check, joe bets 2/3. i think x/c and x/r are both fine, but decide on x/r this time. sizing was something where i'd set myself up for 80-90% jam on the river if he called. joe takes a few seconds, and as he's picking up his cards to throw them into the muck, says something like, "i really don't believe you, but i'm not going to call you down. don't do that again, kid." what a thing to fkn say man, absolutely legendary. he folds. i think to myself, "i've bluffed the champ! call me mike mcd mother fkers."
in all seriousness though, he obv did pick up on some sort of live read, but even with whatever that was, i think over-folding a high-variance, bluff-catching spot vs the only other competent player at the table makes a lot of sense given this is day 1 of the main event and our table is a complete and total joke. wp joe, and thank you for the story. a true legened, imo.
anyway.. fast forward to day 3 of the main and i'm out a few hours before making the money. talk about maximum pain, man. i felt i'd basically avoided any real feelings of tilt/ disappointment prior to this despite a pretty brutal summer, but busting the main was a scratch on the surface of the negative emotions/ tilt i'd buried during the bad downswing i had after my initial move away from home.
the roll is still healthy. the price of btc is falling, but my nw is still around 95k. even though i still have plenty of money and am well-rolled for the main game i want to play (1500 cap 5/t), i have this weird psychological block where it feels like i dont have enough. i think i began to feel this more so when i dipped below 100k. it's like my brain has this weird obsession or belief that i need to be over 100 to be complete (i know, sounds insane, but again, im curious if others experience this kinda thing?) somewhat dejected, i head back home to spend a few weeks with the family before i head out to boston to set up a new home-base.
fast forward to now: i've been renting a room at an air bnb for a little over a month. i'm breakeven over my last 700 hours of live poker (about 175 of those are me losing ~15k at mtt's). i've played about 135 hours of 5-t since moving to boston and an stuck about 6k. pretty normal i think. btc price back down to 8k though, so that + life expenses has brought the networth down to about 85k (70k liquid). i know, i know... plenty of money, even for playing 5-t. but holy fuck man, it does not feel that way. i feel like i did a year and a half ago when i first moved to the 2-5 hub and was dealing with downswing + major breakup. it's quite difficult to even get out of bed and take a shower. forget getting my ass down to the casino and actually putting in some volume in the volatility-chamber. it simply doesnt feel possible. it feels especially risky. like i want to avoid even giving myself the chance to book another losing session because i know how much it'd hurt. do other pros deal with shit like this? if so, what kinds of techniques do you use to combat these feelings? is there a way i can trick my brain into thinking more rationally?
idk how i feel about actually posting this shit. i'm pretty self-concision in general. i will say that writing this out has been therapeutic in some way, and i do feel a bit better. maybe tomorrow will try and do a low-volatility online session. going to try to get outside and get some sun while i still can today. enjoy the spew/ wsop main event weirdness

Rise and Fall Part 9

Part 8 (has access to parts 1-7 in it)
For some reason it would not post the last day or so.
It is early 2017. I have been carrying on my usual playing 10-20 hours a week to survive. Still lethargic is best term I suppose. I just dont get excited to play anymore. I consider getting a job to remind me how shitty working is so it gives me a kick in the teeth to play poker. Then it dawns on me, I hate playing poker now.
Poker has been tainted. Everything bad that happened to me I can associate with poker. The rise and fall was poker (the fall part). The oxycontin started as a performance enhancer to log more hours. Everything I consider to be wrong in my life I trace back to poker essentially, even if just a butterfly affect reason that had I done something else I wouldnt be here.
Hating poker is not the greatest realization considering its my only means to income outside of grunt labor. I seek a job in a couple places to no avail which was fine, I didnt wanna do that either.
Several months earlier I had started playing on SWC (bitcoin site) and became familiarized with bitcoin. Thought nothing of it, it was just the currency I was winning or losing. I dont read a thing about it, I learn nothing of it. I wasnt playing a ton or even big stakes, my intention for playing online was to just stay sharp in case it ever comes back full fledge. I have 5-6 btc on this site at the most (2-3k) and I flush it playing plo and big o not thinking much of it.
Back to 2017. Its March/April~ of 2017. I am playing cards one night dicking around probably had a couple drinks and was needling the usuals etc. A guy I do not know is in the game. Looks Russian. I bet he interfered in our election... fucking commies. I dont remember how I got to talking to him but crypto had been brought up. I talk about SWC. Tell him I had a few btc but not anymore. The only other thing I remember well from the conversation was bitching about going from an iphone4 (yes I had an iphone4 from 2010-17, the same one. It barely worked. Many oxycontins snorted off the back of that phone, texts dating back to when I got it in 2010) to the 6 or 7 or wtfever I have now, which is bigger and its harder to text and drive. He just responds by saying “first world problems are the worst”. Amen brother, those Africans and Venezuelans have no clue of our struggle.
I end up talking to him a bit and it turns out he mines crypto. Has a website that sells mining equipment. He has a hell of a back story too. I tell him I am interested in mining. I have about 20k to my name at this time and I realized recently that I dont like playing poker so why not? He eventually tells me not to do it. Regardless we become friends and he is ultimately the most important friend I have ever made. I have made more positive strides mentally since meeting him (mostly work ethic, realizations, reality checks and aspirations) As silly as it sounds, when he told me “first world problems are the worst” it stuck with me. He was saying it as a joke but jokes are funniest when true. He is genuinely the smartest guy I have ever associated with also. If you run into him at a poker table youd think he was a high functioning autist. Then you talk to him and go “ohhh hes just one of those Einstein type geniuses”. His hair is usually a mess, he cuts his own hair for or has his girlfriend do it. He wears cheap clothing usually since it all covers your ass or nipples I suppose. He virtually never instigates conversation with people he doesnt know. He is really deliberate with his actions. Talks really calmly and knows exactly what he is saying. He is just on the same level at all times it seems.
Meeting him has definitely changed my life for the better. We become friends pretty quickly. I know I went on a downer after meeting him because I couldnt afford to buy mining stuff and remember wanting to (again, he told me not to do it eventually anyways).
Which will lead me to another good friend to have. Between 2015 and this point in 2017 I have shot myself in the foot not logging hours a couple times. A friend has bailed me out with a loan or short term stake a few times. He is a well off restaurant owner who loves poker more than just about anything not related to him. Every time I see him we talk about hands he played and he just eats it up, has photographic memory and never butchers a hand history which is nice. He is as good hearted of a guy as I have ever met. (Sorry if this is getting long winded giving praise to people close to me, I intend on sharing with a few people and would like them to know what they mean to me as corny as that is because I suck at doing it in real life. Plus it is kinda gay to get mushy sounding in real life, but I digress. Theyve heard virtually none of the content of this whole thread either, a ton of this stuff I have never shared) In fact he is too kind hearted. He has helped people who wouldnt piss on him if he was on fire, and people have burned him on many occasions. My only complaint about this person is he never kicked my ass and told me to log more hours or fuck off. I needed it. If I just logged hours I wouldnt need the help. Its as simple as that. I have no leaks other than the unwillingness to play (leaks as in drugs/pit games/strippers/wtf ever else) and it has hindered me immensely over the these last couple years. (Ok I do have one embarrassing leak that has been fixed for a year and change, mobile games... I have spent like 30,000$ on mobile games between late 2016 and late 2018, Lords Mobile specifically clocked me for 20k. This definitely hindered my ability to build a roll and got me into a few jams. When youre not logging hours playing youre sitting around gaming and these games arent cheap obviously)
It is around May now and my friend who messes with crypto tells me that Bitcoin is going to 10,000$. Its like 800$ at the time iirc. I own a couple from Ignition cashouts. I kind of trust him. I cant argue him on it as I have literally no mental fortitude on the subject, but I essentially shrug it off. I start watching the price on poloniex and am watching prices jump like crazy. Light bulb in head! I can buy the dips sell the peaks and have more BTC! Lets load the 2.5btc I have onto poloniex! Sell peak but it keeps climbing... “FUCK! gotta get it back before it goes to 10k! Whew. Still have 2.45 BTC. FUCK! Its dropping! Get it out before it goes to zero!”
Yea I turned that 2.5 BTC into .4 BTC. No joke. I think I ended up throwing it onto SWC and losing it once it was almost gone. I honestly forget. I had nothing when it finally hit 20k other than some shit alts worth about 800$ at most (worth 35$ now but they still reside in my locked poloniex account, maybe I will give poloniex my ID if they ever become worth more than 1k)
So I am now annoyed I didnt turn every free dollar I had into BTC. I didnt trust the guy enough and to be fair I would have been using the money I play with. Had I met the guy a year earlier (know what I know of him now) I would probably have just locked it all up and sat around waiting.
I never really get my act together in 2017. I continuously log just enough hours to get by. I just dont care. I just want a way out of this. I catch myself saying “I hate playing poker” and sometime around the end of 17 or early 2018 I start trying to censor myself and quit saying that. Saying it will only make it fester deeper. I have to retrain myself to love poker. I remember the days of playing 18-24 hours straight because I love playing. I love watching for everything I can find to get an edge. I love a situation to present itself where I can step out of line. But now I just sit down and count the minutes before I can tell myself “way to go! You put in an 8 hour shift lets pack it in!” I leave good games often times. I celebrate when games break. This is where I am mentally while I play. I cant break out of it.
Late in 2017 a close friend of mine passes away. Will call him J. He was the guy who gave me a place to stay after the shutdown in Joplin. I was still doing oxy and he never once touched the stuff knowing what has happened to me. He doesnt judge me, he is somewhat of an enabler I suppose. He just drinks does shitty coke sometimes and has a script of adderol and xanax. Literally never once does he do any with me (ive warned him xanax and opiates will kill you if you mix, which is likely part of the reason he never did it) He was a marginal poker player (relative to modern game, he was just good enough to beat the rake live but he had too many pit leaks) and took great pride in being my friend (I was the slayer in the area for years leading up to this, anyone considered the best in their area can relate, you just have the respect of the local poker community). One of my earlier live poker memories involved him. I am like 18 or 19 playing a 1-2 game at a small casino and he was there with a friend. They were the good players in the game at the time. They were having a few drinks eating nice food and laughing having a good time. I remember thinking that I want this lifestyle. Care free gambling fast paced lifestyle. I had told him this story years later and he just ate it up, constantly tried to get me to rebound, but as I have stated many many times in the last few of these I have basically waved my white flag and accepted the result of my fall.
Anyhow after living with him we always talk every few months at minimal and have something to eat when we see each other at the casino. He was somewhat disingenuous sounding he was so nice and honestly it got to a point it started rubbing me the wrong way. I still talk to him of course but less frequently. In December of 2017 I get a phone call from my friend who owns the restaurant and he is distraught. He has been at the hospital and J has passed away. The back story on this is he had gotten a phone call from old friend who was getting out of prison in Arizona with no where to go (a female). J being as nice a guy as he is drives the 20+ hours to get her and gives her a place to stay. Well shes a junky and actually convinces J to do opiates/heroin. He overdoses and dies. I hadnt talked to him in a few months. I regret it. Had I known I would have beaten him senseless and got him to quit before things actually get bad.
Going to his funeral hit me up side the head too. The way I started feeling he was disingenuous just got destroyed. I cant fathom as many people showing up to my funeral with as nice of things to say. I wrote something to say but opt out after a few people say everything I had written (except better). I regret not saying them anyways. I think I still have what I wrote tucked away with the card and his money clip that made its way to me. I stumbled across his casino players card in a box one day and it resides in my wallet ever since. This was the first close friend that has passed away in my life, knock on wood. It woke me up a bit and caused a lot of self reflection because I felt I had let him down. I lived a few miles from him and didnt drop in to see him, didnt stay in contact as well as I should have. All because I felt he was disingenuously nice when he was actually just nice, which is actually because I am a cynical hermit who hates social life these days. That was the real reason I didnt stay closer. Him being too nice was just my excuse to blow him off essentially.
Only other thing I can add is that chick he helped out didnt even go to his funeral and on top of that had tried to take his truck and clean his house out. Junkies are the worst. I was a junky but I proudly say I never robbed anyone or cost anyone anything other than emotional distress, which isnt much of a brag obviously.
2018 starts and I have been decreasing my methadone every week for about 3-4 months now. I am on a low dose. Makes sleeping at night hard (get restless legs and sneezy). So I am having a few drinks any time I am at the casino playing (still just two days a week for the most part) to help get through those late night sessions when its worn off and I feel crummy. I get down to 15mg then 10mg and in March of 2018 I get asked if I wanna work for a week with my crypto friend. His friend is setting up a farm with 500 miners and needs help. I agree. The pay is in excess of the work (in my opinion) at 3k and I have no expenses, but I dont argue obviously. Before we leave town I have to pick up my week of methadone (at 4mg now) and so I do that. I never take any of them, I have the box still. Never opened it. They remain at my apartment as a reminder, the box carrying the 6 doses and a stack of receipts for every 75$ week that I kept in the box, several years worth, at least 9-10k worth of receipts, and that shits CHEAP compared to oxy. So I am finally off of opiates. I take kratom still but its essentially non addictive in comparison. Ill cede that I am reliant on kratom but if it disappeared tomorrow I wouldnt panic, I would be fine.
So I fly to Denver with my friend and meet his friends half brother who was instructed to rent a box truck and the three of us were to drive from Denver to Washington carrying like half a million dollars worth of hardware. Its early March, the roads arent exactly great. Half brother of his friend rents a truck with no middle seat though. Its absolutely miserable. Whoever sat middle was sitting like a fem boy legs closed and knees up high from the drive shaft hump. It was un fucking real how uncomfortable the middle was. So like I stated the roads were not great, we drove on ice for 5-6 hours straight (while my crypto friend did about 30 minutes of it before I decided I value my life and banned him from driving, he was literally doing over 70 on this ice sheet when I checked the gauge. I forget what he said, I will fail to make it sound as good but he said that he is protected and can not die, if we wreck he wont get hurt because of some universe stipulation that protects him. He said we would get hurt but he wouldnt. *** Ok here is what he said.
“quantum immortality. if i die in this universe, my conciousness will shift to others where i am still alive”
He just couldnt assure us ours would.
I end up driving like 18 of the 24 (one shot) hours it took as letting crypto friend drive was out. We make it set up a farm over a couple days then we go to Vegas. Not only do we go to Vegas but we fly a private jet. Not only do we take a private jet but his buddy has all four of us our own room at the Bellagio for 5-6 days. I remember having a 4500$ win at Bellagios 500$ cap 2-5 game... ran pretty salty. I only remember one hand worth bringing up, but I closed action and called 400$ pre with 67o with 3 others all in. Just flop 77X and send me the money. (Was drinking, gamble gamble). I cold called that also, some fish had opened massive and a 300$ stack just ripped a 400$ stack rejammed and I had called out of bb knowing fish will call off his 400~. This is actually a leak I have in poker. I will go over it because it has history.
Dating back to online my biggest leak was playing vs short stacks. Everyones biggest leak obv (6m setting). There were a few min buyers on Carbon and I got to the point I put them in pre every time they opened my bb from button, so long as they opened 75%+ from button or close to it. This has carried with me live, if I can gamble 3-4 ways (4 specifically) I will basically do it any time its 100bb~ or less with about 40% of hands if I can close action safely. I am a bit of a degenerate in this sense. I will flip for 1k if I have 10k to my name. It mostly came as a way to loosen up tables (the flipping blind preflop) at my local casino with players who give action. I am pretty snug in general but I cant refuse a flip when it presents itself and I cant refuse a fun gamble with short stacks.
I spend the month in Vegas during WSOP and run absurdly bad. Lose every big pot I play it seems. Switch to PLO the last half of the month and go a week straight without tripling my buy in up at any point. Just insane. Looking back I play rather poorly in PLO. I have been spoiled with my PLO games back home (which have been dead for about a year) and could get away with playing 50% of hands and no one ever bet big draws or anything not the nuts basically. I didnt adjust at all is what the issue was. Was just a frustrating month.
So I return and take a stake from a friend. I barely play still. Same ole same ole.
The last thing I will cover for this section is an incident late in 2018. One of the girls who is the floor at my local casino takes kratom also, we talk about it a fair amount. She has some 10mg percocets (mini oxycontins essentially) she gives me two of them. I havent had one in several years. I have been off methadone for 6-8 months at the time. I am eager to feel what I felt all those years ago, having no tolerance. So I take them home even though I know I shouldnt.
I get home and take both of them. What transpires is almost depressing. It frustrates me to no end that I realized that I have no desire for these. It affirms that all the money I flushed wasnt about the high, it was about the not withdrawing. I basically stated this in an earlier post but this is the event that I learned this from. I dont even enjoy it. I just sink knowing that I gave my life away for these. I have never recovered thanks to pain killers. Never once after 2011 have I ever looked in the mirror and said “finally, I have finally recovered what I fucked off”.
I am going to finish this thread off on the next post most likely. It will likely be long and take me a while to compose as it will cover my current year, and put a bow on it. The story basically climaxes a couple posts back, these surely have slowly lost their luster but I will finish them anyways. Nothing exciting about hearing about a guy who can beat games but wont sit in the chair to do it. Its a bit more upbeat in 2019 though andd I feel my future is bright and redemption nears though. I dont think I would have written these if not for a change of mentality recently, so look forward to a positive summary next post.

If you didn't buy bitcoin, and didn't mine it, ... where did you get it? Examples...

If you earn in bitcoin, you will prefer to spend in bitcoin (versus going through the friction of "cashing out" into fiat). This occurring will "close the loop", lessening significantly the conversions to and from fiat.
What would change that you would be earning inn bitcoin in the future? Well, ... you might:
Things are just getting started ...., just wait until gig marketplaces like Uber, DoorDash, and AirBNB offer to pay in bitcoin to attract more service providers. Or when payment in bitcoin is an option for those who make bulk payments -- such as Udemy which pays instructors their commissions and TryMYUI wich pays their testers.
What other ways have you ended up with bitcoin, other than buying from an exchange?

AMA with SOON :) 02/08/2019

Soon: First of all, I'd like to congratulate everyone here for a successful binance and kucoin listing. It is really you guys who made this happen, and not us. We supported your vision, and without your vision none of this would have been possible. This isn't our first rodeo show, but we realized early on that in the crypto space the community is everything. All of you have proven to the world just how important it is to be transparent, loyal, and what can be done when a community comes together for one common goal. Other than being the first gaming project to IEO, I believe this is the first project in the crypto space to build a product before listing on any exchange. This project was built by the team, but only made successful because you guys stuck to it. Therefore, the teams wants to thank all of you for the support for the past 9 months. The road will only get bumpier, but the potential is now endless. Ivan: When is the 3rd announcement coming? and any clues on what it is? Soon: The third announcement will be coming SOON. I don't have an exact time for it - but we are working on it as we speak. For sure you'll know its the third announcement once its released but let's enjoy the first and second announcement while we can : ) Ivan: when is the sportsbook coming online? Soon: Its more or less complete. Just a few more kinks we are working out. The goal is to have out before the NFL season and the Soccer (yes yes... football) season. So we are hoping to have out in the next couple weeks. We also have events planned : ) Ivan: has anything being done for the abuse of jackpots to stop on 1 v 1 poker tables? Soon: As I mentioned before, we are taking this week to gather feedback for the Poker platform. I know a lot of you compare it to traditional platforms like pokerstars, but we must look at the whole picture. It is nothing like pokerstars to begin with because there is mining a token which has value, there is rakedrops etc. So this is also new to us. For the jackpot we do see a lot of people 1v1 just to try to hit the jackpot - kind of like video poker. But we must also understand that they are also feeding rakedrops pool. One change that we will implement very soon is to have the amount you can win from the jackpot tiered. The cap for the rake, VIP, rakeback, tournaments, Spin and go etc. all of this will be changed and/or added. For more information on the roadmap for poker - Ivan : Next question, and I guess I can ask 2 in 1 for this one, sportsbook will it go 100% to Win, also advertising revenue will that go 100 % into WIN ? Soon: So we actually spent a lot of time thinking about how we should organize the sportsbook. I feel that sportsbook doesn't give users the mining rush, and similar to 1v1 poker right now, some people will be able to mine at no costs. Therefore, right now we have decided to have it go into WINdrops 100%. On average the house edge for Sportsbook is roughly 10% - so this will definitely help the price of WIN + Windrops Advertising will also all fill into WIN - but atm we have not started this. We need to build more content, integrate more partners, increase our viewership - then advertising revenue will be added Binance listing already put the platform in front of millions of viewers - so i hope as a community we can welcome all the new users who know nothing about WINk or TRONbet : ) Ivan: You have listed a lot of the new games like Hypersnakes, when will that launch? also will that feed into another token or into one of the current 3 ? Soon: The team is working on integrating the games as we speak. As you can see there is a lot on our plate right now including sports, updating poker, finding new partners, more e-gaming content, and other more traditional games. We also have to work with these developers to change some of the systems and mechanisms in the games to make it more compatible with drops etc. I think this is where our expertise comes into play, as we have created a whole new business model where wealth is redistributed to those who support it. Given this, some games will feed directly to WIN, some will have its own token and its own pool. It really depends on the product and there is no set rule as to how it works because each game or dapp is different in its underlying mechanics. One thing for sure is that no matter what, a portion of it or all of it will feed to WIN. Therefore, hodling WIN, keeping it frozen for drops over the long-term will give users a decent passive income that they can enjoy for as long as they want. Ivan: Will the new partnerships allow seamless payments from fiat to crypto? and making it easier for the average person to play on WINk? Soon: Yup this is also something we are working on. Fiat to crypto will definitely bring a whole new user base to the platform. But once you deal with fiat there are new regulations that we have to adhere too. We are working on getting through all of these regulations as we speak. Other than fiat, we will be integrating bitcoin, litecoin and other mainstream tokens to bring in new users as well. Ivan: while we are talking about the integration of btc, ltc etc. lots of questions coming in... when are you looking to integrate those into the platform? and how do we as users claims lets say LTC divs ? Soon: We are working on it - but it will take some time. I will update everyone as the time comes closer. but I'm sure all of you will enjoy it when it does happen Ivan: when can we see WIN come on trontrade, so we can directly buy into it, rather then sending trx to binance converting into btc/usdt and then buying win Soon: YUP! We just had a meeting this morning about it. It will be available on both trx.market and trontrade - Most likely will be up and running ready to trade in the next week Ivan: What are your plans for longterm growth (marketing, user grown, etc etc) Soon: I think the whitepaper sums up our plans the best. 2 things that we are working on 1. Lowering the barrier for non-crypto users - such as the fiat integration etc. Currently, the barrier is too high for the average user, and we've been working on a solution. But we also must understand that this requires the whole blockchain industry to grow, and this is also why i despise all these scam projects. Trust in a new technology is very important for adoption, and the more scams the less trust. 2. Partnerships with industry leaders - The binance listing that the community just had, has given gaming and WINk legitimacy, and this legitimacy will allow us to build new partnerships that will also bring in a lot more users. I can't expand too much on these partnerships atm... but let's just say.... when announcement 3 happens... it'll be good Ivan: while we are on that last question, also what is your projected users by End of year?
Soon: for most of you who have been here for a while, you know that I hate speculation. and this is also why WIN is soo great, because its not a token for people to speculate on. Yes, there will be those who speculate on it, but it is also the only token that I know of on binance, that brings true measurable value. Given this, I don't want to speculate on users right now, but I think as long as we keep creating these new partnerships, keep building fun products, and keep listening to the community, user growth will come naturally. User growth also depends on each one of you, as word of mouth is the best marketing tool available. Just to name a few... Tommy, Scott, Alexey, and many others have done great to help the platform grow. So I'd like to thank all of you for that.

Ivan:
Will we be doing a full UI overhaul of the wink site?
Soon:
Yes we will! We are trying to build more social systems into the platform which will hopefully increase platform retention. Also, the current color scheme and design is still TRONbet, so we will be doing an overhaul to make sure these systems are organized and user-friendly, while rebranding as WINk

Ivan:
I think we will do one more question, are you planning on having a get together with the team and community members in a central location?

Soon:
I'd love too... isn't that what ANTE/WINk island is for? I actually had some time last week and was googling how much it'd cost to rent out an island for a night. Depending on the size we are looking at anywhere from 30k - 80k USD.
If all of you are interested in getting together and maybe meeting the team someday - we can definitely set it up.
No beer though... I can't drink beer....

Ivan: hehehe no beer, but I am sure we can get you on some whiskey lol
Thank you SOON for answering a lot of these questions and in great depth too.
We Will close the AMA now and open up the chat for discussion again.
Soon:
sounds good! thank you all again! Time to get back to work!
again, congrats on a successful listing, Remember! its only going to get bumpier from here on out!
No smooth sailing : )
Endless potential
Thank you all, SOON out~!

HODLing since 2013. Sold 1/3rd of BTC today at $19.5k. Don't be afraid to take gains. Thoughts and ramblings inside.

Throwaway account for obvious reasons. I am posting this for others who may be debating about what to do with their BTC gains.
First heard about Bitcoin in 2013. Ordered $8k worth of computer parts and took over the extra power in my house and built milk crate mining rigs. Kept them running, even as the price fell... As cards failed I didn't replace them. Long story short, I end up with ~80 BTC.
During the "down years" before things really picked up steam I played around mining some other things, so I have around 65 Litecoin and 70 Ethereum. I messed around and spent some BTC just because I could, a couple BTC on online pokecasino sites to see how it worked... And that ill fated 1 BTC porn video from a Redditor who is probably laughing her way to retirement by now.... ;)
Earlier this month I became a cryptomillionaire on December 10th. That was an awesome achievement. Luckily for me I've been involved in technology so I was already a millionaire in the traditional sense. Not anything too crazy... 4M net worth or so, but used to dealing with money and investments. My advice to others is based on 30 years in technology and being a high net worth individual since the early 2000's.
Today I passed 1.5M in crypto wealth and I cashed out a third of my holdings to pay off my mortgage. I did this for multiple reasons:
  1. I think we are in a speculative bubble. I believe in crypto and blockchain technology. It is going to change the world. But the utility is not fully there yet. The current price, in my opinion, is overinflated relative to what these things are really doing in the world. I think there will be a correction but eventually things will really take off, similar to the dot com bubble. Having worked in technology since 1997 this is just my opinion based on my gut reaction to everything going on.
  2. Traditional banking needs reformed/to die. Why should a big bank get to collect thousands in interest from me every year? I view selling some of my crypto and clearing a major debt as not only a personal gain but a vote against the system. I would encourage anyone who can clear debt against existing fiat to do so. I would rather put $1k back into crypto a month than be giving $1k in interest back to the banks.
  3. You are not investing if you are not ever willing to take gains, you are just gambling. I don't think anyone should ever sell 100% of their crypto, but you need to be able to part with some of your BTC at the time and choosing that makes the most sense for you and your goals.
As part of adjusting my crypto portfolio for the future today, I also converted all my Bitcoin Cash to BTC. I very much do not like what is coming out of the mouths of that group, and I believe there should only be one "Bitcoin." I am appreciative of the free money that landed in my lap from that fork, but too many options is going to confuse the general public. I encourage everyone to do the same.
As I write this, I am still a cryptomillionaire and am looking forward to the future. But I have future goals in mind where I may clear other debts or continue to diversify. Unless you have no debts at all and no plans in your life I think HODLing until death is a pretty silly idea. Everyone should have some goals in mind with any financial venture. Just make sure they are big enough checkboxes that you won't keep looking back.
EDIT: Since many people have asked: I used Gemini to do the sale. I also have a Coinbase account, but the fees are much higher for a large sale. Yes, you can have your limits raised at both places to be able to do larger sale quantities and bank transfers.
EDIT2: Just to clarify, me mentioning my net worth and background is not to brag (to be honest, many of the people I know in the industry are worth 10X me because they took more risks) than wanting other people to know that I consider myself a successful and educated investor. When someone who has no experience is handed 1M they lose it (look at lottery winners). I want people to NOT lose, so I am using my knowledge to make sure others without that think carefully and realize that taking some gains is not a bad thing. HODL is great and all, but you need to be smart about what you own, crypto or otherwise. I apologize to anyone if it comes off as grandstanding, but you shouldn't get emotional about money.

Rise and Fall Part 9.

Part 8 (has link to all before it, part 7 link has each individual link)
I expect this one to be the least popular one. Just wanted to be a cynic to open it up. I have been busy and this ones prob a bit sloppy, I didnt really proof read it or clean it up. The next one will likely be my last and hopefully the best one.
I was a junky but I proudly say I never robbed anyone or cost anyone anything other than emotional distress.
(I will have him tell me this stuff again and leave it in comments, it was pretty funny and I kinda want to think he believes what he said as it was clearly not something he just came up with).
Its a bit more upbeat in 2019 though and I feel my future is bright and redemption nears though. I dont think I would have written these if not for a change of mentality recently, so look forward to a positive summary next post.

Former EMT, jail psych/med tech, security guard. Current farmer, day trader, hospital psych/med tech, and gun owner. AMA!

• I'm a (mostly hobby) farmer - I live on a farm for rice, local & foreign fruits, tomatoes, numerous different types of berries, mushrooms from all over the world, bees, eggs of chicken + quail + pheasant, and goats for milk, soap & wool.
• We have 2 guard llamas (1 for the birds, 1 for the goats) and 6 dogs (2 German shepherds, 1 great pyrenees, 1 komondor, 1 mangal, and 1 boxer)
• I day trade in FOREX & cryptocurrencies - for cryptos, I'm active in bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, XRP, dogecoin, and Monero. For FOREX, AUD/USD, AUD/GBP, GBP/USD, JPY/CAN, CAN/USD, JPY/CHF, CHF/USD, and EUUSD. I also play online poker and
• I used to be an EMT with the emergency ambulance service for a bit. I got that license quickly, and did that up until I finished the rest of my college (2 ½ years)
• When I was 16 & 17, I was one of 4 security guards (on one shift) for a very rural truck stop
• When I finished my college and got my psych/med license, I worked at first in a jail while I was on my probationary period.
• After working in the jail, I work where I currently do at a psychiatric hospital for adolescents in the sex offenders unit. I've recently also gotten licensed as a teachers assistant so I can help school there.
• I own a 12 gauge shotgun and revolver legally in a country where guns are mostly illegal. Mine are legal because I'm specifically registered, and my application was approved because I'm a farmer that has a big predator issue. (Feral dogs, snakes, lynx)

PLAY.GOC.NETWORK Casino Play Online

PLAY.GOC.NETWORK
Play casino games online with crypto currency
The crypto casino sector of online gaming is an exciting new sector which we predict will continue to grow. With cryptocurrency opening the doorway to easily becoming the house it has a distinct advantage over traditional live casino games. The crypto casino trend is fast becoming an established contender in the world of online casinos as the use of cryptocurrency becomes more and more mainstream.
At Play our core belief in everything we do is that gaming should be fun and enjoyed responsibly. Implementing provably fair in the near future is a high priority for us, as we want our customers to have that extra peace of mind when enjoying the games on our platform. We want our users to come to our platform and have a wide variety of games and activities that they can launch straight into with their tokens.
Whether you want to invest in house profits, gamble, play non-casino games, play with friends in multiplayer, simply mine RWD, or trade on Play Market, we hope Play has something to offer everyone!
Reward mining progresses through rounds and gradually gets more difficult as time goes on. If the user chooses to burn their RWD, they receive a share of the daily reward pool, which is a collection of all house profits on the platform automatically distributed to the users based on their proportionate share of the total pool every 24 hours.
Users holding RWD tokens get a share of 50% of the Play Markets TRX profits, and PLAY holders get airdrops of RWD daily for holding increments of a million PLAY in their wallet. Further use cases will be developed as the platform continues to grow. We are always looking for ways to further benefit our users and our eco system is constantly evolving.
Play with your favorite Crypto Currency
Users can play games with PLAY, TRX, IGG, LVH and more, with BTC, ETH and EOS coming in the very near future. Mining Reward (RWD) is another central aspect to this platform that will bring longevity and exciting rewards to our users for years to come.
PLAY.GOC.NETWORK offers traditional table games like Blackjack, Roulette, Bacarrat and Texas Hold’em. Play casino also offers slot games, dice games and Plinko. Start playing today to earn your fair share of multiple shares of TRC20 tokens on the Tron Blockchain with bitcoin gambling coming soon!
The market offers even more flexibility for Play GOC users. As a lighting fast, reliable and smooth exchange of exceptional quality, we offer and unrivaled trading experience for multiple tokens. Play GOC & Play Market will be expanded in the future to have cross-chain capability and support for dozens of coins/tokens.
Play Casino is licensed and regulated with terms and conditions that govern the crypto gambling space for your added security and peace of mind in a space where many come and go in a matter of weeks.
Play Crypto Casino Online Advantages
One of the main advantages is that by buying PLAY tokens in increments of 1M you qualify for the daily RWD airdrop so in essence it is possible to “be the house” and earn a share of daily profits by burning these in the daily party, or if you prefer to hold them you will earn your share of 50% of the Play Markets profits. So many ways to earn!
As we run off-chain we have our depositing and withdrawing system, which will enable us to grow beyond the Tron ecosphere in the very near future.
The crypto casino boom will be a massive change in the online gaming industry soon. The advantage to playing with crypto rather than using your credit card is that the payment process is significantly faster, and you are completely safe when you don't need to leave your credentials online. It is important not to share your private keys with anyone, these must always be kept secure.
New games and features are added regularly to diversify the portfolio of readily available games.
Anonymous play on the block-chain is one of the aspects many find desirable, as it removes the need to spend time performing KYC which is required when playing online with fiat currencies the mainstream casinos offer.
Play instantly on mobile, PC, or MAC
